Dave AbdunNur, Board Member
David Abdun-Nur MD is a Family Medicine physician in Grants Pass, Oregon. He began his practice in Ventura, California following his residency there, and transitioned to Oregon with his family in 1994. His practice encompasses the whole of life, from newborn to the elderly. He has served on the Board of the Oregon Academy of Family Practice and the Asante Board of Directors and currently serves on the Board for Sunrise Family Support. David enjoys the outdoors; cycling, gardening, and traveling.
Selena Alderson, Co-founder
Selena has worked with youth and families for over 20 years. She has experience working in the Juvenile Justice System, Alternative Education, Youth Ministry, In-home Childcare, and Public Education. She is currently licensed by the state of Oregon as a School Counselor, specializing in social-emotional development and learning.
Kerry Alderson, Co-founder
Kerry has worked with youth and families for over 20 years. In his current position, he serves as a full-time Family Pastor at Edgewater Christian Fellowship. Prior to ministry, Kerry spent over 10 years as a public school teacher & coach, and 10 years in radio broadcasting. Kerry currently leads a local ministry called Game Changers.
Denise Rohan, Professional Counseling Associate
Denise has worked in mental health for 5 years. She has experience working with adults, teenage girls, and children. She is credentialed as a QMHP and recently got approved by the state of Oregon as a Professional Counseling Associate.
Alena Moore, Professional Counseling Associate
Alena is a Marriage & Family Therapy Associate as well as a Professional Counseling Associate with the state of Oregon. Alena has experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families. She has worked with youth and young adults with persistent mental illness. She has a passion for working with all walks of life, no matter what season they are in.
Anne Anderson, Board Member
After growing up in Seattle, Anne left the big city and moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1988.She and her husband, Lowell, have been married for 36 years and have 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Anne worked in the counseling office at North Valley High School before starting a family and being home for the next 16 years. During this time, she was active in Campus Life, local youth groups, her children’s schools and sports teams, as well as serving on various committees and planning many events. Anne became a licensed real estate broker in 2008 and continues to work with clients to buy and sell homes in southern Oregon. She is passionate about the importance of home and what it means for a family. Attention to detail, organization and communication are important in the real estate business and Anne hopes to carry on those gifts in helping Sunrise Family Support be effective in the community of Grants Pass as they meet the needs of individuals and families.
Katherine Abdun-Nur, Board Member
Katherine Abdun-Nur is a wife, mother and grandmother who loves Jesus. She spent her career working as a Registered Nurse in Critical care, Emergency and Trauma in both northern and southern California and later, became a Lactation Consultant, working in southern Oregon for 25 years. She led a team that achieved the World Health Organization designation of Baby-Friendly Hospital for both Asante Three Rivers and Asante Rogue Regional Hospital Birth Centers. She is a watercolor artist and truly feels called to attempt to capture glimpses of God's creation in paint; whether portrait, floral or landscape. She currently serves on three Boards; Sunrise Family Support, Hearts with A Mission, and the Watercolor Society of Oregon.
